Below are some Frequently Asked Questions about The 2005 South Park Gaming Awards

Q: What are these awards for?
A: These awards are to recognise and reward the best of the best in South Park Gaming.

Q: Do you pick who will win?
A: No, registered members at the forums will be picking, by submitting votes to the "Nominations" member.

Q: When do the awards run?
A: Voting runs from December 1 to December 25. The awards will then be presented on December 28.

Q: How will the awards be presented?
A: Currently, awards will just be presented in a thread at the forums. There may or may not be a chat room in which winners are presented in real time to other members in the room, but this has not yet been decided on. Details shall be included if we go ahead with it, though.

Q: Do we have to be registered at the Forums to vote?
A: Yes, because the votes are submitted through the forums. However, registering to vote doesn't mean you have to become an active member at the forums - and registration only takes a minute.

Q: Why have you decided to run your contest through the forums rather than through email or through a form?
A: Simply, it was easier to manage, and would ensure that we wouldn't recieve any fake votes or multiple votes. Making votes harder to access to non-members also meant that the majority of the voters would be people known and trusted by the rest of the community, and would provide more singificant results for South Park Gaming.

Q: Who will be counting the votes, and how?
A: The votes will be counted by Forum admins Beamer and Junkman, just by a simple tally. Both members will do seperate counts to ensure accuracy.

Q: Are forum admins and moderators allowed to vote?
A: Yes, any registered member at the forum is allowed to vote. However, Beamer and Junkman are not, as they are running the award show.

Q: What happens if there is a tie?
A: In the event of a tie, the tie-breaking winning vote will be cast by Beamer and Junkman. This will be the only time they are allowed to vote.

Q: Can I vote for myself?
A: Voting for yourself is allowed, but is regarded as a very cheap and dishonourable thing to do. While you CAN do it and it WILL count, we certainly wouldn't recommend it, and encourage members to vote for other people, even if members feel that they deserve the award themself.

Q: Can I vote for a demo, beta or unfinished game?
A: You can only vote for a game that is not out in full in the "Most Anticipated Upcoming Game" and "Best Demo" categories. All other categories must be for fully complete games.

Q: Are the games listed as "Examples" the only games we can vote for?
A: No, these games have just been listed to give you an idea of the type of games we are looking for. We have only selected well-known South Park Games for Examples, just to make sure people understand the genres and guidelines for each category. As long as your game selection is appropriate and does not go against the rules listed in the category, you can vote for any game you want.

Q: Do we have to vote for every single category?
A: You must include every category in your submission. If you do not want to vote, just put "N/A" where your vote should go. You can only put "N/A" THREE times on the form - any more, and your vote will not count. If you don't include a category in the form altogether, your vote will also not count. In any event where your vote will not count, you will be informed and asked to re-submit your votes again.

Q: If a member who votes is caught breaking the award show rules, what will happen to them?
A: Their votes will be disregarded from the final outcome, and that member will be informed. If their breach of 2005 SPG Awards rules ALSO breaches forum rules (eg. multiple accounts), they will also be punished in accordance of forum rules, too.

Q: I have a good idea for a category! Why isn't it listed? Can it be part of the awards?
A: No, as voting has already begun, and even if we did like your idea, adding a new category half-way through would severely disrupt the awards. However, be sure to post it here and suggest it for our next award show!

Q: I want my game to win! PLEEEAZZZEEE!!!
A: That is neither a question, nor intelligent. Your game will win if members vote for it and the community as a whole feels it deserves the award. We refuse to rig the contest for ANYONE, especially someone who spells "PLEASE" with a "Z."
