PRE-SHOW UPDATE:
South Park Gaming has been an online fan community for over seven years now. It features a team of South Park fans dedicated to making free, downloadable computer games for other fans to play, and the community continues to grow every month. With over 300 games available for download on the archives at The South Park Gaming Archives (or SPGA, the current home of South Park Gaming) and over 100 demos, betas and unfinished games - it's clear that South Park Gaming has a lot to offer any South Park enthusiast with a semi-decent computer and internet access.

Although South Park Gaming was very much a small, underground online fanbase for its first two years, in 2000 and 2001, the community grew to almost 50 regular members. It was during these years that members decided to hold the first South Park Gaming Awards, to reward the more highly-regarded games and their makers for doing such a good job. There were many different award shows held, such as the 2000 South Park Gaming Special Christmas Awards, and more South Park Gaming Awards in 2001 and 2002. After that, the community's main site closed down, and it left South Park Gaming in a small state again, being hosted by Smiley Town and attracting only 10-20 regulars.

However, South Park Gaming prospered on through these more unpopular years, with three veteran South Park Gamers leading the way - Beamer, Junkman and Stanster. It was in 2004 when another old member, Spratt, owner of The South Park Gaming Archives decided to re-open his site. With the biggest South Park Gaming website back in action, the community grew to a huge size, attracting many new members (and several old ones). Now, the community is even bigger in numbers than it was in 2000 and 2001. Even if the amount of games being produced is slightly less in quantity, there's no doubt that the quality is better than anybody could have imagined from the older days.

In late 2004, Beamer suggested doing another award show, being that the community was once again large enough to have one. All the members got on board with suggestions and much planning began, although nothing came from it. When the end of 2005 approached, Beamer swore that the awards would go ahead this year. Using the ideas suggested from 2004 (and several new ones), this is what came from it: The 2005 South Park Gaming Awards, proudly hosted by The South Park Gaming Archives.

These awards are being managed and hosted by Game-making veterans Beamer and Junkman, with special thanks to Spratt for hosting the site. For information regarding the Awards show itself and how it will work, please check out the Information page. If you have any other queries, try the FAQ page, or ask on the Forums if your answer is not there. Over 'n out! - Beamer.
