Someone should make a role-playing South Park game. We all know how difficult it is, but still, someone should consider it. Personally, I hate Final Fantasy. I'd rather Zelda any day. This said, someone out there be sure to make an RPG with a real-time fighting engine. No turn-base involvedb but still having the capability of leveling up. I tried to make one but gave up after it became unstable. It's a demo called "Shades of Violet" if anyone is interested. So... yea... someone should make one. I'm sure most of us would be more than willing to play it. On a side note, I'll announce that I'm currently working on a new adventure game. so...

Its not that hard except you need a bunch of people to keep the time down.

I juggled with the idea ever since I joined the community, but never quite knew how to pull that off.
If I ever made one, I'd try to get it done in RPG Maker because I would never be able to make a fully functionnal RPG engine in MMF.

Well, there are two varying styles you could go with. You could go with a hack 'n slash, or something a little different.
The Different: Well, first off, the combat system should be free roaming. Oh, and every building in South Park should be able to get into somehow. Whoever your character is, as you can decide, their statistics would be different. Also, your player would need to at some time fall asleep, so as to keep their energy up. This is when you may save.
The Combat: The entire game should be from a top-down perspective. You can lock-on to targets, thereby being able to deal combos and whatnot with your guy/girl. Or, you can just free swing.
Blah, blah, blah, etc, etc.

Well... if you're going to define a RPG, I'd say that's its just a regular game with RPG elements. IE Eternal Daughter is a platformer RPG.

I'm doing one right now in the RPG makers, but mainly working on the sprites; I'm making the sprites for Kenny as well as the other South Park Characters(it's hard to do because of the 24x32 size limit).
Personally, The closest RPG nowadays to South Park is Earthbound, due to the quirky stuff in that game(it doesn't have the same humor though), which has a cult that worships the color blue, Pencil Erasers, New Age Retro Hippies, and other stuff that makes you think that the programmers of the game were on LSD(The city Moonside, psychedelic battle backgrounds, etc).

Hmm... well... I'm going to demand that somebody attempt making an RPG in Cnc. An adventure game would be better, though. One in which you would go back and forth place to place while needing to save your game. Someone Do It.

I could try to do a RPG with that engine you gave me, but the player wouldn't be able to go back and forth, that would be way too complicated (at least for me).

I would suggest a very simple engine. Basic four way controls (32 directions) with an invisible shadow which would allow the hero to get close to walls without being stopped by his head.
The character doesn't need to use a weapon as it would only make things too complex. Perhaps some kind of magical power that defends him. Also, the fun of the game would be leveling up.
Don't forget the amazing storyline.
Don't be linear.

The problem is that I won't be able to start a RPG game until I finish my new project. But I'm looking forward to a RPG, as I'm kinda tired of making the standard shooting games.

A RPG game could be possibly done in CNC, but it certainly couldn't be the doing of only one person. Right on, I've never got around working up the basic idea of a battle engine, determining how hard your attacks hit depending upon variables, using various attacks, determing the enemy's behaviour and such. I actually thought about making a game in a RPG maker as well, but I just don't like the looks of the program. But, I suppose that's what you get for not creating the whole game system on your own. I couldn't stand that.
